Meet the artist: Tanja Stadnic

When did you first start painting? Were you born with a paint palette in hand, or did your interest in art develop over time?

I had the affection to draw stuff; to paint and to be creative from a very young age. So much so, that my parents permitted me to attend an art school for young children. Gradually, my love of drawing blossomed into a profound passion for art in general. A passion that led me to a course at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts. It’s where I discovered the irrefutable painter within.

Was there a moment when you decided to follow your path as an artist?

Actually, from the moment I discovered the painting within me, I developed my own abstract style and built up a portfolio.

You paint Porsche cars. Why did you decide to do that? How did it come?

During one of my visits to Art Galleries, I stumbled across a painting of a 911 and was instantly dazzled by the beauty of it. The funny thing was, by that time we owned a 911 ourselves, but I never made the connection between my Artwork and the Porsche. From that moment everything changed. Porsche Acrylic Art was born.

How can you describe your own style and technique?

Each painting is different for me. Also the story behind the owner and the car is very important to me. I can somehow sense what style I should choose and which colors to pick. I use different painting techniques. Some rather subtle, others slightly more exuberant, depending on the client and the object.

Do you have a personal favourite piece? Can you think of a piece that was particularly fun to work on?

Yes I do have a personal favourite. It was a huge honour to paint the car of Dr. Wolfgang Porsche and personally deliver the piece in his historical office at Porscheplatz 1 in Stuttgart. https://tanjastadnic.com/special-delivering-drporsche/

Which artist of the past would you most like to meet?

Hard question.. but if meant I can choose anyone, it would be most likely one of the old Dutch masters

What is your favourite art gallery/museum and why?

I am not a typical visitor of art galleries because of the niche market I am working in (Porsche). So the most favourite museum for me to visit will be the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen.

Which artist materials do you use and why?

I use acrylic paint, spatula’s and brushed. I am also a big fan of using 24K gold elements on my painting. As per example;  https://tanjastadnic.com/24k/
